MEET THE ROVERS

ROB BATE: Appointed Manager June 2007

PAUL SYMES: Appointed joint Manager June 2007Defender. He joined our Youth setup in 1997, and soon established himself in the first team. Last season he was voted Supporters and the Managers Player of the Year, and has over 100 league appearances for the club

MICHAEL CHURCH: Keeper: In his 4th season with the Club and has missed few games in that time. A good steady keeper with safe hands, he has over 130 Ridgeons League appearance to his name.

ALEX DRENNAN: Defender. Signed in the close from Harwich & Parkeston where he was a regular last season. A good experienced defender.

KEITH EMMERSON: Defender. He started his career with Hartlepool United, before work commitments brought him to Colchester. A stylish full back who likes to attack.

ASHLEY HOWARD: Defender. Another to progress through our Youth system. He moved from left back to centre back and quickly made the position his own. He was voted last seasons Most Improved Player of the Year.

Defender. He joined our Youth setup in 1997, and soon established himself in the first team. Last season he was voted Supporters and the Managers Player of the Year, and has over 100 league appearances for the club.

SAM SINES: Midfield. Returned to the Club last November after spells at Wivenhoe and Clacton. A Versatile player with a wealth of experience at this level.

ROB BATE: Midfield. Returned to the Club last season and soon established himself in the side. He has taken the move to right back this season in his stride.

MICHAEL BURCH: Midfield. He signed in October 2003 from Border League side West Bergholt. He is an inspirational attacking midfielder and Club Captain. Made his 100th league appearance at the end of last season

LUKE CALLANDER: Midfield. Signed from local side Alresford Colne Rangers in January 2004. He is a box to box player with an eye for goal, 17 last season.

MARTIN CURTIS: Forward. Signed from Junior Football, and is in his 6th season with the Club. He has over 50 Ridgeons League goals to his name. A good Clubman.

MARLON NORTH: Forward. Joined mid way through last season from Hadleigh United, and scored some very important goals. A great prospect for the future.

RAY TURNER: Forward. He was the top goal scorer in the Ridgeons League last season with 41 goals, and hopes to better that this season. Players Player of the Year.

HARRY SCHOFIELD: Midfield. A former member of the West Ham Academy, he joined the Club in the close season. He is still only 16 and has a bright future.

ROSS ROUCH: Ex Colchester United Trainee,  Joined Stanway Rovers in October and has made an immediate presence in defence.

ANGELO HARROP: Ex Colchester United Trainee Joined Stanway Rovers at the begining of October. A qulity midfielder with excellent passing ability

JERMAINE HAREWOOD: A fleet quick footed winger has added pace and control to the left side.

BEN NEWSON : One half of the twins In his second spell at the club, and has made his position his own this season. Has scored some spectacular goals so far this season.

SAM NEWSON: The other half of the twins Also in his second spell at the club.. Like his brother likes to get forward and has scored some very important goals again some spectacular

MARK GAISFORD: Ex Colchester United Trainee in his second spell at Stanway, Comming through the Youth team. A Very strong central defender
